Employability/Support Worker Role:

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of women and young people facing multiple barriers to accessing training and employment? We are seeking an enthusiastic Employability Support Worker to join our team at ReTweed. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing employability and support services to women looking to enhance their skills, build confidence, and progress towards positive destinations.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Development and Delivery:

  • Provide employability and support services to women and young people, facilitating progress towards employment, training, education, and volunteering outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain links with employability intermediaries, education providers, and community groups.
  • Attend employability forums and promotional events, some of which may be outside regular office hours.

Client Engagement and Assessment:

  • Build rapport and establish trust with ReTweed students and volunteers.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify strengths, challenges, and employability goals.
  • Collaborate with beneficiaries to develop personalized employability/progression plans.

Employability Workshops and Training:

  • Design and deliver workshops on CV building, job searching, interview skills, workplace etiquette, stress management, and time management.
  • Provide targeted training sessions to enhance specific employability skills.
  • Develop partnerships with external trainers and organizations for expanded training opportunities.

One-on-One Support:

  • Offer personalised support to address barriers to employment.
  • Create tailored action plans with realistic and achievable goals.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to build confidence and resilience.

Resource Coordination:

  • Support individuals in accessing relevant resources, including education and training programs, childcare services, travel assistance, and mental health support.
  • Collaborate with local businesses to identify job and volunteering opportunities for ReTweed participants.

Job Placement and Follow-Up:

  • Engage with employers to create job placement opportunities.
  • Support clients in the application and interview process.
  • Conduct follow-up with placed beneficiaries to ensure successful workplace integration.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
  • Generate regular reports on program outcomes, successes, and challenges.
  • Utilize data to assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Contribute to ongoing project evaluation through case studies and user surveys.
  • Prepare reports on the outcomes and impact of the employability service.

Personal Development:

  • Actively participate in training sessions.
  • Stay updated on employability-related knowledge.
  • Engage in regular professional supervision.
